Capstone: Mythos of a Teapot

This is the website that holds the work.

In this project, one of the main ideas I am dealing with is how history is presented in exhibits. I am mainly looking at anthropological exhibits that are found in natural history museums. The narratives that can be found in artifacts have always captivated my imagination. They filled my head with questions that had no absolute answers. So for this project I have chosen an object to research and fabricate a future history for the observer to interpret. That object is the Utah Teapot. The reason for choosing the Utah Teapot is because it was the first object to be virtually simulated. The project is an analysis of how records of history are crafted to be a simulation for the observer to interact with. This project will emulate that simulated interaction of information, and in doing so become a spectacle like the exhibits that first captivated me.
