Other Works

Here are some examples of other artworks that I worked on. Included are ceramic pieces, a group instillation titled “Mad Genius”, and an early piece of a soft machine.

Die Die Die! :

The is was another early piece that explored stop motion. The narrative is about dice being captured and abused by a cursed sword. One of the dice escaped the sword’s long reach and searched for the only one that can defeat the malevolent blade. After finding his champion the dice returns to rescue the others and to finally be free of the sword.

Veil Perceived :

In this work, I am exploring the use of perception through the use of a constructed space and video. There is also a narrative operating in the work, comparing the internal and external perspectives of the mind in a state of anxiety.

The pre-recorded video that is shown shows the internal perspective, and the live relay is the external. The room in a way represents the mental space that we make in response to a threat, but in closing ourselves in an isolated space we end up hurting ourselves more than the initial threat. The veils that I have set up are to restrict the use of a single perspective. Forcing the observer to take up a new perspective that gives them new insight into the narrative.

There are three main parts to this piece that I use to show different perspectives, which are the room, the dual projected video, and the live relay of the room. The room is set up in a way to invoke unease and anxiety from the observer from a first-person Perspective. The dual video shows the effects of the same room on another lone person. This is to portray a third-person perspective. The live relay is to show a second-person perspective in the form of showing the observers a live video of themselves.
